Description:: Libuše Bráfová, granddaughter of František Palacký and daughter of František Ladislav Rieger, decided to set up a museum in the house where her family had lived for several generations. In my paper I will focus on the following questions: What did the idea of home mean to Bráfová? Why did she decided to open her house to public? What were functions and purpose of the museum and why was setting it up so difficult? Besides, I will be interested in the functionig of the museum in the first years of its existence, the popularity of this institution among the Czech public and the experiences of visitors of the home of the most important Czech family in the 19th century.

Description:: This study deals with remembering of former "Leader of the Nation" František Ladislav Rieger in the annual years of his birth and death in 1918, 1938 and 1948. It will be focused on celebrations and commemorative acts, which took place in these years, and on the participation of the political representation, historians and Rieger's family. The main questions are: how Rieger's legacy was interpreted by different political parties and how Rieger's place in the Czech historical memory changed owing to the events happened in the years ending with eight which are traditionally considered as an important milestones of the modern Czech history.

Description:: This study deals with the view of Václav Červinka, son-in-low of František Ladislav Rieger, administrator of Rieger's estate Maleč and a man of many intellectual interests, on radical changes of the Central Europe at the turn of the 20th century, especially destruction of traditional political, economic, social and cultural structures, outbreak of the First World War, collapse of the Austria-Hungary and estabilishment of the independent Czechoslovakia. It is shown, how Červinka, as a man who was closely tied to the traditional conservative policy and politicians of the end of the 19th century, evaluated all these changes and what was his reaction, e. g. in his literary work.
