Multimedia social networks (MSNs) provide great convenience to users, while privacy leaks issues are becoming prominent. The studies on relationship-based access control have been widely used in social networks. However, with the dynamic development of social networks and rapid growth of user information, the access control does not completely meet the current system's need. In this paper, an attribute-based access control model called ABAC{MSN is proposed for MSNs. This model comprehensively considers user attributes, environment attributes and resource attributes, not only including relationships among users. In this model, users can set multimedia usage control policies based on three categories of user-defined attributes. A formal theoretical model is established, which includes constraint rules, data ow rules, policy conflict resolution mechanism, and applied to CyVOD.net, a multimedia social-network-platform prototype systems. The deployment and application denote that this method effectively and exibly addresses use-case scenarios of multi-attribute-based media access control, and improves the access security of social media platforms and resources.
Community structure implies some features in various real-world networks, and these features can help us to analysis structural and functional properties in the complex system. It has been proved that the classic k-means algorithm can efficiently cluster nodes into communities. However, initial seeds decide the efficiency of the k-means, especially when detecting communities with different sizes. To solve this problem, we improve the classic community detection algorithm with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) mapping and local expansion k-means. Since PCA can preserve the distance information of every node pairs, the improved algorithm use PCA to map nodes in the complex network into lower dimension European space, and then detect initial seeds for k-means using the improved local expansion strategy. Based on the chosen initial seeds, the k-means algorithm can cluster nodes into communities. We apply the proposed algorithm in real-world and artificial networks, the results imply that the improved algorithm is efficient to detect communities and is robust to the initial seed of K-means.
Regulatory volume decrease (RVD) is essential for the survival of animal cells. The aim of this study was to observe the RVD process in rat ventricular myocytes, and to determine if the KATP channels are involved in the RVD process in these cells. By using reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and Western blot analysis, we demonstrated that there are two types of KATP channels expressed in rat ventricular myocytes: Kir6.1 and Kir6.2. When rat cardiac myocytes were exposed to hypotonic solution, cell volume increased significantly within 15 min and then gradually recovered. This typical RVD process could be inhibited by a Cl– channel blocker (0.5 mM 9-anthracene-carboxylic acid , 9-AC), a K+ channel blocker (5.0 mM CsCl) and a KATP channel blocker glibenclamide (10 μM). Electrophysiological results showed that hypotonic solution activated a whole-cell current, which had similar biophysical characteristics with KATP opener (pinacidil)-induced currents. This current could be blocked by glibenclamide. Our data suggested that the RVD process in rat ventricular myocytes is dependent on the activation of K+ channels, and that KATP channels are involved in this process., L. Shi ... In the central nervous system (CNS), monocarboxylate transporter 1 (MCT1) is expressed in astrocytes and endothelial cells but also in oligodendroglia. Oligodendroglia support neurons and axons through lactate transportation by MCT1. Limited information is available on the MCT1 expression changes in candidate cells in the developing rat brain, especially in corpus callosum which is the most vulnerable area in demyelinating diseases. In the present study, we investigated the expression pattern of MCT1 during postnatal development in the rat corpus callosum using immunofluorescene staining, Western blotting analysis and RT-PCR. We reported that MCT1 gene and protein were consistently expressed in the rat corpus callosum from birth to adult. MCT1/CNPase and MCT1/GFAP immunofluorescence staining demonstrated that most of MCT1 positive cells were co-labeled with cyclic nucleotide 3′ phosphodiesterase (CNPase) in rat corpus callosum from P7 to adult, whereas MCT1+/GFAP+ cells preserve the dominate position before P7. Moreover, there were significant associations between the expression of MCT1 protein and the expression of myelin basic protein (MBP) (correlation coefficient: r=0.962, P=0.009) from P7 to adult. Similarly, the MCT1 mRNA expression was also significantly associated with MBP mRNA expression (r=0.976, P=0.005). Our results are proposing that in the developing brain white matter, MCT1 is predominately expressed in oligodendrocyte though it mainly expressed in astrocyte in early postnatal, which indicate that MCT1 may involve in the oligodendrocyte development and myelination., F. During the last century, the world soybean yield has been constantly enhancing at a remarkable rate. Factors limiting the soybean yield may be multiple. It is widely acknowledged that changes of root metabolism can influence aboveground characteristics, such as the seed yield and photosynthesis. In this study, we considered root bleeding sap mass (BSM) and root activity (RA) as indicators of the root growth vigour. We used 27 soybean cultivars, spanning from 1923 to 2009, to evaluate the contribution of root characteristic improvement to efficient photosynthesis and dry matter production. The BSM, RA, net photosynthetic rate (P N), and organ biomass were measured at different growth stages, such as the fourth leaf node, flowering, podding, and seed-filling stage. Our results showed that the soybean cultivars increased their biomass and P N thanks to genetic improvement. At the same time, BSM and RA also increased in dependence on a year of cultivar release. However, both P N and biomass were positively correlated with root characteristics only at the podding stage. Our data revealed that the improved root characteristic may have contributed to the enhanced photosynthesis, biomass, and yield of soybean cultivars during last 87 years of genetic improvement. We suggest that BSM and RA could be used as important indexes for further practice in soybean production improvement., X. Cui, Y. Dong, P. Gi, H. Wang, K. Xu, Z. Given the potential clinical benefit of inhibiting Na+/Ca2+ exchanger (NCX) activity dur ing myocardial ischemia reperfusion (I/R), pharmacological approaches have been pursued to both inhibit and clarify the importance of this exchanger. SEA0400 was reported to have a potent NCX selectivity. Thus, we examined the effect of SEA0400 on NCX currents and I/R induced intracellular Ca2+ overload in mouse ventricular myocytes using patch clamp techniques and fluorescence measurements. Ischemia significantly inhibited inward and outward NCX current (from -0.04±0.01nA to 0 nA at -100 mV; from 0.23±0.08 nA to 0.11±0.03 nA at +50 mV, n=7). Subsequent reperfusion not only restored the current rapidly but enhanced the current amplitude obviously, especially the outward currents (from 0.23±0.08 nA to 0.49±0.12 nA at +50 mV, n=7). [Ca2+]i, expressed as the ratio of Fura-2 fluorescence intensity, increased to 138±7 % (P<0.01) during ischemia and to 210±11 % (P<0.01) after reperfusion. The change of NCX current and the increase of [Ca 2+]i during I/R can be blocked by SEA0400 in a dose-dependent manner with an EC50 value of 31 nM and 28 nM for the inward and outward NCX current, respectively. The results suggested that SEA0400 is a potent NCX inhibitor, which can protect mouse cardiac myocytes from Ca2+ overload during I/R injuries., J. Wang, Z. Zhang, Y. Hu, X. Hou, Q. Cui, Y. Zang, C.
