Vedle uznání zjevných biologických charakteristik bylo také třeba, aby primatologové prozkoumali psychologické a sociální podobnosti mezi lidským živočichem a d věma druhy rodu Pan . Jane Goodallová byla průkopnicí dlouhodobého pozorování divokých šimpanzů na k rátkou vzdálenost v j ejich přirozených prostředích. Výsledky převratných výzkumů Harolda Coolidge a F ranse de Waala přispěly podobným způso - bem k p ochopení a p orozumění bonobů. Tyto studie zřetelně svědčí o n ápadném kontrastu mezi agresivním šimpanzem a mír umilovným bo - nobem. Náš vlastní druh nadto sdílí některé psychologické a s ociální aspekty s o běma zmíněnými pongidy. Besides acknowledging the obvious biological characteristics, primatologists needed to also inves - tigate the psychological and social similarities between the human animal and the two Pan species. Jane Goodall pioneered the close-range and long-term observations of wild chimpanzees in their natural habitats. Likewise, Harold Coolidge and Frans de Waal contributed to un - derstanding and appreciating bonobos as a r esult of their ground-breaking research. These studies clearly attest to a s triking contrast between the aggressive chimpanzee and the peaceful bonobo. Furthermore, our own species shares some psychological and social aspects with both of these pongids. Background and objective: Investigation of the effects of MnTnHex-2-PyP on some markers of inflammation and lipid peroxidation in an asthma mice model. Methods: The experiment was carried out on 24 female mice C57Bl/6, divided into four groups: group 1, controls; group 2, injected with ovalbumin (OVA); group 3, treated with MnTnHex-2-PyP and group 4, treated with OVA and MnTnHex-2-PyP. The animals from groups 1 and 3 were injected i.p. on days 0 and 14 with a 100 μl phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), and those from groups 2 and 4 were injected with a 100 μl ovalbumin solution, containing 20 μg OVA. On days 24, 25 and 26 the mice from groups 1 and 2 were inhaled with PBS for 30 min, and those from groups 2 and 4 were given a 1% ovalbumin solution. One hour before inhalation, and 12 hours later the animals from groups 1 and 2 were injected i.p. with 100 μl PBS, and those from groups 3 and 4 received a 100 μl MnTnHex-2-Pyp solution in PBS сontaining 0.05mg/kg. Results: Ovalbumin alone (group 2) increased the total cell number, total protein content, the levels of IL-4, IL-5 and 8-isoprostane in bronchoalveolar lavage. Elevations were observed in IgE level in serum, and the malone dialdehyde (MDA) content in the lung homogenate. These markers were decreased significantly in group 4 as compared to the OVA group. Kosterní pozůstatky zvířat z archeologických výzkumů středověkých lokalit tvoří soubory kostí a fragmentů. Na archeo-oste - - ologickém pracovišti Ústav anatomie, histologie a embryologie Fakulty veterinárního lékařství Veterinární a farmaceutické univerzity Brno jsou tyto soubory hodnoceny a výsledky porovnávány s dostupnými literárními prameny. Ve spolupráci s archeology jsou výsledky uváděny do souvislosti s ostatními nálezy. Naše práce se zaměřuje na hodnocení kostí a fragmentů, které tvoří kuchyňský odpad, tedy kosti se stopami kulinárního opracování. Pro jejich úspěšné určení je mnohdy významný i nález canalis nutricius na fragmentech diafýz dlouhých kostí. Rozdělení kostí dle „kvality“ masa na kategorie A, B a C umožnilo prokázat rozdíl ve složení masité stravy na panských sídlech a vesnick - ých usedlostech či v podhradí. Největší podíl v souborech tvoří často kosti skotu (až 56 %). Chov tohoto druhu byl oblíben nejen pro maso, ale i další možnosti využití. Naopak kosti malých přežvýkavců (ovce a kozy) byly v souborech zastoupeny maximálně do 17 % z důvodu omezené užitkovosti těchto zvířat. Rovněž kosti prasat tvořily menší podíl, zpravidla ne více než 10–30 %. Spotřeba vepřového masa odpovídá způsobu středověkého chovu prasat, zvířat s jednostranným využitím. Koňské kosti se stopami kuchyňského opracování tvořily jen malý podíl (nejčastěji do 4 %). Jen výjimečně byl jejich počet vyšší a to v souvislosti se specifickou situací ve studované lokalitě. Dělení kostí (nejčastěji sekáním) ukazuje na způsob řeznického a kuchyňského zpracování masa poražených zvířat. Všechny tyto výsledky jsou důležitým zdrojem informací o masité složce stravy středověké populace v různých sociálních prostředích, Animal skeletal remains from archaeological research of medieval localities create collections of bones and fragments. These col - lections are evaluated in archaeo-osteological detachment of Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology of University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno. Results are compared with accessible literary sources and in cooperation with archaeologists are correlated to other findings. This paper is focused on bones and fragments which create the kitchen waste. Successful determination can be notably sup - ported by finding of canalis nutricius on diaphysis of long bones. By the help of dividing bones into categories (A, B, C) according to “worth” of meat was facilitated documentation of differences in consum - mation of meat in aristocratic seats and rustic houses. The highest share was very often formed by cattle bones (up to 56 %). Breeding of this animal species was favourite not only for its meat but also for other possibilities of utilization. On contrary bones of small ruminants (sheep and goat) were presented only in smaller amount (up to 17 %) on the ground of their limited utility. Also participation of pig bones was lower (not more than 10–30 %). This rate of usage of pork meat is in accordance with the level of medieval breeding of pigs – animals with one-side usage. Only small parts of findings (up to 4 %) were formed by horse bones with trace of culinary processing. Higher number was very rare and always related to specific situation in the locality under study. Cutting of bones (mostly by chopping) shows the way of slaughter and culinary processing of meat. Primární řasinka je senzorická buněčná organela, která se v klidové fázi buněčného cyklu vyskytuje u většiny lidských buněk, včetně buněk embryonálních, kmenových a buněk stromatu nádoru. Přítomnost primární řasinky na povrchu buňky je přechodná: vyskytuje se v klidové G1 (G0) fázi a na počátku S fáze buněčného cyklu. Bazálním tělískem primární řasinky je mateřská centriola. U většiny nádorových buněk se primární řasinka nevyskytuje. Výjimkou jsou nádory, které jsou závislé na signální dráze Hedgehog a tím i na primární řasince, jako například bazocelulární karcinom kůže či meduloblastom. Primární řasinka je pozorována i u trojitě negativního karcinomu prsu. V primárních řasinkách je přítomna řada receptorů, včetně mechanosenzorů, receptorů pro růstové faktory (EGFR, PDGFR), hormony (somatostatin), biologicky aktivní látky (serotonin) a morfogeny (Hedgehog, Wnt). V primární řasince se vyskytují signální dráhy Hedgehog a Wnt. U těch typů lidských buněk, které mají primární řasinku – tedy u naprosté většiny buněk, se signální dráhy Hedgehog a Wnt vyskytují výlučně právě jen v primární řasince. Cílem tohoto sdělení je přehled biologických funkcí primárních řasinek., The primary cilium is a sensory organelle protruding in the quiescent phase of the cell cycle from the surface of the majority of human cells, including embryonic cells, stem cells and stromal cells of malignant tumors. The presence of primary cilium on the cell surface is transient, limited to the quiescent G1 (G0) phase, as well as the beginning of the S phase of the cell cycle. Primary cilium is formed from the centriole. Most cancer cells do not posses the primary cilium, with some exceptions, such as tumors depending on the Hedgehog pathway -e.g. basal cell carcinoma or medulloblastoma. The primary cilium is present also in cells of triple negative breast carcinoma. Primary cilia are equiped with a variety of receptors, including mechanosensors, receptors for growth factors (EGFR, PDGFR), hormones (somatostatin), biologically active substances (serotonin) and morphogens (Hedgehog, Wnt). Multiple components of Hedgehog and Wnt pathways are localized in the primary cilium. In the human cells possessing the primary cilium (majority of the human cells) Hedgehog and Wnt pathways are located exclusively in primary cilium. Bio-degradable stents are be made of different synthetic polymers (like polylactide or polyglycolide) or their co-polymers (polydioxanone). They can be used for treating benign stenoses of the small and large intestine, particularly in Crohn’s disease. Endoscopic introduction of bio-degradable stents into small and large intestinal stenoses is feasible and relatively simple. Initial results are encouraging and the complication rate is low. However, there are still some difficulties that need to be overcome. The rate of early stent migration is still rather high (up to one third of patients). This might be solved by changes in the shape or rigidity of the stents as well as by further improvement in the design.
