A Potamogeton hybrid found growing in the absence of parental species in a South Bohemian stream, Czech Republic, was subjected to molecular analyses to identify its exact identity. RFLP of the ITS region confirmed its previous morphological identification as P. natans × P. nodosus (= P. ×schreberi). A comparison of its RFLP pattern with those of P. gramineus, P. lucens and P. polygonifolius unambiguously excluded the possibility that the investigated plants are specimens of other similar hybrids (P. ×fluitans, P. ×sparganiifolius, P. ×gessnacensis). The discovery of P. ×schreberi in South Bohemia is the first record of this hybrid for the Czech Republic. So far, it is known only from five countries and the Czech clone is one of a few extant clones of this hybrid in Central Europe. Chloroplast DNA sequencing identified P. nodosus as the maternal parent although at present this species neither occurs at the locality, nor upstream, nor in the entire drainage basin. The other species, P. natans, only occurs downstream of the locality in isolated side pools in a former stream bed and fishponds in an adjacent drainage basin. The available data indicate that this hybrid has persisted vegetatively at this locality for some time in the absence of its parents.
Using a large sample of museum and newly collected specimens of the cryptic butterfly species Leptidea sinapis and L. reali, identified/confirmed based on genital characters, the patterns in their geographical distributions, historical changes in range and briefly also their habitat associations in Poland, were investigated. Leptidea sinapis occurs mainly in the lowland and upland parts of the country and is rarer than L. reali, which is widespread throughout Poland, including the mountains. In the first half of the 20th century, the range of L. sinapis included the whole of Poland, whereas currently it is confined to eastern and southern regions. Historical records of the distribution of L. reali are concentrated in southern and central Poland. Currently it is recorded from localities throughout Poland. Leptidea reali is recorded most frequently in meadows and shows no clear preference for a particular level of humidity, while L. sinapis is found mainly in woodland and xerothermic habitats. Pharmacokinetics of leptin in mammals has received limited attention and only one study has examined more than two time points and this was in ob/ob mice. This study is the first to observe the distribution of leptin over a time course in female mice. A physiologic dose (12 ng) of radiolabelled leptin was injected in adult female mice via the lateral tail vein and tissues were dissected out and measured for radioactivity over a time course up to two hours. Major targets for administered leptin included the liver, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract and the skin while the lungs had high concentrations of administered leptin per gram of tissue. Leptin was also found to enter the lumen of the digestive tract intact from the plasma. Very little of the dose (<1 %) was recovered from the brain at any time. Consequently we confirm that the brain is not a major target for leptin from the periphery, although it may be very sensitive to leptin that does get to the hypothalamus. Several of the major targets (GI tract, skin and lungs) for leptin form the interface for the body with the environment, and given the ability of leptin to modulate immune function, this may represent a priming effect for tissues to respond to damage and infection., R. Dolichopodidae (over 6000 described species in more than 200 genera) is one of the most speciose families of Diptera. Males of many dolichopodid species, including Dolichopus, feature conspicuous ornaments (Male Secondary Sexual Characters) that are used during courtship. Next to these MSSCs, every identification key to Dolichopus primarily uses colour characters (postocular bristles; femora) of unknown phylogenetic relevance. The phylogeny of Dolichopodidae has rarely been investigated, especially at the species level, and molecular data were hardly ever involved. We inferred phylogenetic relationships among 45 species (57 samples) of the subfamily Dolichopodinae on the basis of 32 morphological and 1415 nucleotide characters (810 for COI, 605 for Cyt-b). The monophyly of Dolichopus and Gymnopternus as well as the separate systematic position of Ethiromyia chalybea were supported in all analyses, confirming recent findings by other authors based purely on morphology. Within Dolichopus, stable species groups could be assigned to four distinct categories on the basis of their statistical support in 7 phylogenetic analyses: (i) clades significantly supported in all analyses, (ii) clades supported in trees based on DNA and combined data, but only partly in morphological trees, (iii) clades significantly supported in trees based on DNA and combined data, but not in morphological trees, and (iv) clades consistently supported only in morphological trees. The phylogeny generated here provides a better understanding of the phylogenetic relevance of some debated morphological characters used for species and species-group characterizations in the most commonly used identification keys. In this respect, postocular bristle colour proved of little phylogenetic relevance since every group with species featuring black bristles also included species with partly yellow bristles. Entirely or partly infuscated femora explained the nodes of three stable species groups and even revealed an incorrect polarity of this morphological character in three species. Four of 6 complex MSSCs and 5 of 8 more common MSSCs were found consistently in further species groups.

We explored the population systems of Pelophylax esculentus at the southern border of the distribution range for this complex. We used both morphological data and allozyme markers to describe population systems in this region. All three taxa in the complex, P. ridibundus, P. lessonae and their hybridogenetic form, P. kl. esculentus occurred in the research area. In four localities that were analysed near the Danube River, we found complex population systems of both the parent species and their hybridogenetic form. Southward from the border defined by the Sava and Danube riverbanks, only the P. ridibundus – P. kl. esculentus (R-E) system was detected. Among these R-E populations, the abundance of the hybridogenetic form declines sharply from the north to the south. The most common and widespread system in Central Europe, the P. lessonae – P. kl. esculentus population system, was detected in only one locality near the Sava River.
This study investigated the post-spawning dispersal of seven species occurring in a tributary of the Římov Reservoir during
the years 2000-2004. Fish were captured during spawning migration to the tributary, marked and released. The subsequent distribution
of marked fish was followed in the reservoir and tributary during three successive periods 1) early summer, 2) late summer and 3)
the next spawning season. Species were divided into two groups – obligatory tributary spawners (white bream

different sites within the reservoir main body. We hypothesized that obligatory tributary spawners would distribute across the reservoir
after spawning according to their species-specific preferences for certain feeding grounds. We expected a relatively low or erratic post-
spawning dispersal for spawning generalists. The results of the study revealed that the post-spawning dispersal of obligatory tributary
spawners is consistent with our hypothesis and they most likely dispersed according to their feeding ground requirements. The post-
spawning dispersal of generalists revealed that the assumed low dispersal was relevant for bream and perch while erratic dispersal was
observed in roach.
In this paper we formulate a general model of the continuous double auction. We (recursively) describe the distribution of the model. As a useful by-product, we give a (recursive) analytic description of the distribution of the process of the best quotes (bid and ask).
Pseudarhahdttsynachus yucatanensis sp. n. (Diplectanidae) is described from the gills of the red grouper, Epinephelus maria (Valenciennes, 1824) (Serranidae), from the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. This new species is characterized by having both the ventral and the dorsal squamodiscs composed of 10-12 rows of rods, with 0-1 innermost row forming a closed circle. Furthermore, the vagina of P. yucatanensis has a non-sclerotized ampulla with a fine, sclerotized duct leading to a sclerot-ized seminal receptacle. Prevalence (percentage of infected fish) and abundance (mean number of worms per examined fish) were estimated for P. yucatanensis from 8 localities along the coast of Yucatan. Prevalence varies from 38% to 100%, while abundance was between 1.2 ± 0.6 and 43.2 ± 17.8 worms per ftsh. The lack of linear relationship between the host length and the number of monogcneans per fish (regression F, = 0.56. p = 0.45) was probably due to the fact that the sample was restricted to juvenile hosts.

Vnímané sebeuplatnění obsahuje víru ve vlastní schopnosti dosahovat výsledků. Cíle, výsledky a vnímané příčiny úspěchu a neúspěchu představují různé motivy pro výkonnost. Ekonomická výkonnost v makroekonomické i mikroekonomické dimenzi se týká produkce, distribuce, směny a spotřeby. Každý z těchto procesů obsahuje psychologické faktory výkonnosti ve specifické podobě. Specifické psychologické faktory produkce jsou kooperace a inovace. Distribuce obsahuje oceňování rozdělování produktů. Psychologickým faktorem směňování je srovnávání zájmů, zisků a ztrát. Spotřeba zahrnuje jako psychologický faktor dynamiku aktualizace a uspokojování potřeb. Relativně autonomní vývoj potřeb má vliv na produkci, distribuci i směnu. Základním stimulem ekonomických procesů je však produkce, která obsahuje po psychologické stránce předobraz všech ekonomických procesů v podobě kooperace, dělby dílčích činností, jejich výměny a spotřeby. Udržení vyrovnaného fungování a vývoje čtyř základních ekonomických procesů v jejich komplexu je také výkonem, respektive výkonnost vyžaduje. Psychologickým předpokladem a výsledkem tohoto udržitelného fungování a rozvoje je vnitřní kontinuální kultivace účastníků všech ekonomických procesů.
