The telecommunication and Ethernet trafic prediction problem is studied. Network traffic prediction is an important problem of telecommunication and Ethernet congestion control and network management. In order to improve network traffic prediction accuracy, a network traffic hybrid prediction model was proposed by using the advantages of grey model and Elman neural network, grey model and Elman neural network predictive values were independently obtained, the different weight coefficients of two prediction models were given. In terms of weight coefficients optimization, an improved harmony search algorithm with better convergence speed and accuracy was proposed, the optimal weight coefficients of network traffic hybrid prediction model were determined through this algorithm, two prediction models results were multiplied by the weight coefficients to obtain the final prediction value. The network traffic sample data from an actual telecommunication network was collected as simulation object. The simulation results verified that the proposed network traffic hybrid prediction model based on improved harmony search algorithm has higher prediction accuracy.
Stress serves as a risk factor in the etiology of hypertension. The present study was designed to decipher the effect and mechanism of chronic stress on the progression of pressure overload-induced cardiac dysfunction. We used abdominal aortic constriction (AAC) to induce pressure overload with or without chronic restraint stress to establish the animal models. Echocardiographic analysis showed pressure overload-induced cardiac dysfunction was worsened by chronic stress. Compared with the AAC rats, there is a significant increase in cardiac hypertrophy, injury, apoptosis and fibrosis of the AAC + stress rats. Furthermore, we found the secretion of norepinephrine (NE) increased after the AAC operation, while the level of NE was higher in the AAC + stress group. Cardiomyocytes and cardiac fibroblasts isolated from neonatal rats were cultured and separately treated with 1, 10, 100 μM NE. The higher concentration NE induced more cardiomyocytes hypertrophy and apoptosis, cardiac fibroblasts proliferation and collagen expression. These results revealed that high level of NE-induced cardiomyocytes hypertrophy and apoptosis, cardiac fibroblasts proliferation and collagen expression further contributes to the effect of chronic stress on acceleration of pressure overloadinduced cardiac dysfunction., W. We examined photosynthetic activities and thermostability of photosystem 2 (PS2) in leaves of elm (Ulmus pumila) seedlings from initiation to full expansion. During leaf development, net photosynthetic rate (PN) increased gradually and reached the maximum when leaves were fully developed. In parallel with the increase of PN, chlorophyll (Chl) content was significantly elevated. Chl a fluorescence measurements showed that the maximum quantum yield of PS2 (ϕPS2), the efficiency a trapped exciton, moved an electron into the electron transport chain further than QA- (Ψo), and the quantum yield of electron transport beyond QA (ϕEo) increased gradually. These results were independently confirmed by our low irradiance experiments. When subjected to progressive heat stress, the young leaves exhibited considerably lower ϕPS2 and higher minimal fluorescence (F0) than the mature leaves, revealing the highly sensitive nature of PS2 under heat in the newly initiating leaves. Further analysis showed that PS2 structure in the newly initiating leaves was strongly altered under heat, as evidenced by the increased fluorescence signals at the position of the K step. We therefore demonstrated an inhibition in the oxygen-evolving complex (OEC) in the young leaves. This resulted in decrease in amount of the functional PS2 reaction centres and relative increase in the PS2 reaction centres with inhibited electron transport at the acceptor side under heat. We suggest that the enhanced thermostability of PS2 during leaf development is associated with improved OEC stability. and C.-D. Jiang ... [et al.].
Seedlings from four provenances of Jatropha curcas were subjected to 80, 50, and 30% of soil field capacity in potted experiments in order to study their responses to water availability. Our results showed that with the decline of soil water availability, plant growth, biomass accumulation, net photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance (gs), and transpiration rate (E) decreased, whereas leaf carbon isotope composition (δ13C), leaf pigment contents, and stomatal limitation value increased, while maximal quantum yield of PSII photochemistry was not affected. Our findings proved that stomatal limitation to photosynthesis dominated in J. curcas under low water availability. The increase of δ13C should be attributed to the decrease in gs and E under the lowest water supply. J. curcas could adapt to low water availability by adjusting its plant size, stomata closure, reduction of E, increasing δ13C, and leaf pigment contents. Moreover, effects of provenance and the interaction with the watering regime were detected in growth and many physiological parameters. The provenance from xeric habitats showed stronger plasticity in the plant size than that from other provenances under drought. The variations may be used as criteria for variety/provenance selection and improvement of J. curcas performance., C. Y. Yin, X. Y. Pang, A. D. Peuke, X. Wang, K. Chen, R. G. Whole cell patch-clamp recordings from GABAergic cells of thalamic reticular nucleus (RTN) in thalamocortical slices made from postnatal day 6 (P6) to 10 (P10) were used to investigate the pattern of rebound bursts (RBs) triggered by an injection of hyperpolarizing current into RTN cells. The number of RBs in the RTN and the overlying Na+/K+ spikes changed in an agedependent manner. The generation of RBs depended largely on the amplitude of the after-hyperpolarizations (AHPs). RB patterns in response to hyperpolarizing current injection into relay cells were markedly different from RB patterns in RTN cells with an after-depolarization. GABAA receptor antagonist bicuculline methiodide (BMI) changed burst firing patterns, increasing the duration of RB and decreasing the amplitude of AHP in RTN cells. Furthermore, local puffs of NMDA in the presence of BMI induced RBs. K+ channel blocker 4-aminopyridine partially mimicked the effect of BMI on AHPs. The shapes of RBs were altered by a selective CaMKII inhibitor KN-62, but not by an inactive analog KN-04., X. Wang ... [et al.]., and Obsahuje bibliografii a bibliografické odkazy
The photosynthesis was investigated 30 d after Pb treatment in Myrica rubra seedlings. The Pb treatment resulted in significantly increased Pb concentrations in shoots. Low Pb concentration exposure (≤2 mM) reduced the net photosynthetic rate (PN), transpiration rate (E), and stomatal conductance (gs) without affecting the intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci), chlorophyll (Chl) content, and Chl fluorescence parameters. At 10 d after severe Pb treatment (≥4 mM), PN was inhibited and accompanied by Chl damage, while at 30 d, the inhibition of PN was followed by an increase of Ci and a decrease of gs, E, Chl content, and Chl fluorescence parameters. M. rubra showed a promising prospect for use in the soil phytoremediation, when Pb concentration is low, but the remediation efficiency of M. rubra is limited if Pb exceeds 2 mM., B. He, M. Gu, X. We studied the effect of herbicide and nitrogen supply on photosynthesis in Perilla frutescens L. Britt. Plants were exposed to combined treatment of urea and herbicide, fenoxaprop-P-ethyl (FPE), in various concentrations. FPE reduced significantly chlorophyll (Chl) content, photosynthetic rate, and stomatal conductance, but increased significantly intercellular CO2 concentration; thus, FPE inhibited significantly the photosynthetic capacity. In addition, FPE also decreased significantly the PSII photochemical efficiency, effective quantum yield of photochemical energy conversion in PSII, PSII potential activity, and photochemical quenching of variable Chl fluorescence. It also decreased nonphotochemical quenching. It indicated that FPE impaired PSII and blocked the electron transport in light reaction. The urea treatment at moderate concentration (1-4 g L-1) could antagonize the negative effect of FPE, while the high urea concentration (8 g L-1) aggravated this effect. The treatment with urea (4 g L-1) and then with FPE (1.33 mL L-1) enhanced Chl content index, photosynthetic rate, and stomatal conductance by 12.5, 36.1, and 28.5% compared to FPE treatment alone. Thus, we suggested to treat plants first with urea (4 g L-1) and then by FPE (1.33 mL L-1) as the best and the safest method to balance the fertilization and weeding., J. H. Zhang, S. J. Guo, P. Y. Reperfusion therapies for ischaemic stroke can induce secondary injury accompanied by neuronal death. The Y-box binding protein 1 (YBX1), an oncoprotein, is critical for regulating tumour cell proliferation and apoptosis. Thus, we wanted to know whether YBX1 could regulate neuronal cell apoptosis caused by cerebral ischaemia/reperfusion (I/R). We established a model of cerebral I/R-induced injury in vitro by oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) treatment and determined YBX1 expression using Western blot. Next, the effect of YBX1 on the apoptosis and viability of OGD/R-treated PC12 cells was evaluated by flow cytometry, MTT assay, and Western blot. Besides, the release of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and the activity of catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were detected to evaluate oxidative stress of PC12 cells induced by OGD/R. The regulatory roles of YBX1 in the AKT/GSK3β pathway were examined by Western blot. As a result, OGD/R treatment down-regulated YBX1 expression in PC12 cells. YBX1 over-expression attenuated the growth inhibition and apoptosis of PC12 cells induced by OGD/R. Besides, the increase of LDH release and the decrease of SOD and CAT activities caused by OGD/R were reversed by YBX1 over-expression. Moreover, YBX1 over-expression could activate the AKT/GSK3β pathway in OGD/ R-treated PC12 cells. Therefore, YBX1 could protect against OGD/R-induced injury in PC12 cells through activating the AKT/GSK3β signalling pathway, and thus YBX1 has the potential to become a therapeutic target for cerebral I/R-induced injury.
