Featured this month is an article by Professor Jaroslav Panek of the ASCR's Institute of History on the project Rosenberg Year. This year is the 400th anniversary of the death of Petr Vok, the last male descendant of the Rosenberg family. The project aims to introduce the public to the historical role and cultural work of the Rosenberg family and elucidates this legacy for the present. The project was initiated in commemoration of this culturally important family by the National Heritage Institute which manages the former residences of the Rosenberg family - Rosenberg Castle, Český Krumlov Castle, Třeboň Chateau and Kratochvíle Chateau. One of the exhibitions, The Rosenbergs, family of Czech magnates and its journey through history, was mounted for the Waldstein Riding School in Prague by the National Heritage Institute in collaboration with other cultural institutions. and Jaroslav Pánek.
Čeští a němečtí odborníci v oboru historie, sociální geografie, ekonomie, politologie, teologie a orientalistiky promluvili ve veřejné panelové diskusi „Uprchlíci a my: Česká očekávání a německá zkušenost“, kterou za účasti německého velvyslance Arndta Freiherra Freytaga von Loringhovena uspořádala Učená společnost ČR 19. dubna 2016 v budově Akademie věd ČR. The Second Argentine - Czech Biennale Workshop E-Golem took place in Buenos Aires on September 24-26, 2007. It was organized by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat for Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of the Argentine Republic, with suppport from the Czech Embassy in Argentine and the Argentine Embassy in the Czech Republic. Its general subject was Society of information and Communication - Emerging technologies and their applications in society and the arts. The aim of this event was to discuss this issue in detail such topics as, artificial intelligence, image processing, web-technologies, nano-technologies for life sciences, eco-technologies and so forth. Stejnojmenný seminář se z iniciativy Grantové agentury ČR uskutečnil 20. května 2015 v budově Akademie věd na Národní třídě v Praze. Jako hlavní řečníci vystoupili prof. Štěpán Jurajda a doc. Daniel Münich z CERGE-EI (společného pracoviště Univerzity Karlovy a Národohospodářského ústavu AV ČR) a prof. Jaroslav Pánek z Historického ústavu AV ČR. Grantová agentura ČR jako nejvýznamnější poskytovatel účelových finančních prostředků v oblasti základního výzkumu tímto seminářem poukázala na význam společenských a humanitních oborů a na dopad jejich výsledků.
