2. Gräberfelder der Rössener Kultur am östlichen Harzrand

In den letzten Jahren konnten bei Hettstedt und bei Oberwiederstedt (Sachsen–Anhalt) am Ostrand des Harzes drei kleinere Gräberfelder bzw. Gräbergruppen der Rössener Kultur untersucht werden. In diesem Beitrag werden stellvertretend für die anderen Befunde die Gräber 90 und 95 des Gräberfeldes 2 vorgestellt. Grab 90 enthielt zwei Marmorarmringe, von denen einer alt ausgebrochen und repariert worden war. Der Oberkörper und der Kopf des Mannes in Grab 95 war mit Rinderrippen abgedeckt, eine Sitte, die möglicherweise im Verbreitungsgebiet der Hinkelsteinkultur entstanden ist. Anhand der beigegebenen Gefäße werden die Gräber in das späte Rössen bis Bischheim datiert. Die Gräberfelder am Ostrand des Harzes weisen verschiedene Übereinstimmungen mit dem namengebenden Gräberfeld der Rössener Kultur auf, so u.a. die Lage am Rande von Hochflächen, begrenzt von zwei Steilhängen, und die Existenz von Gräbern der Gaterslebener Gruppe, die westlich sowohl an das bei Oberwiederstedt gelegene Gräberfeld 3a als auch an das eponyme der Rössener Kultur anschließen. Dadurch gewinnt die Frage erneut an Aktualität, inwieweit die Existenz von Gaterslebener Gräbern auf oder direkt neben Rössener Gräberfeldern für eine Gleichzeitigkeit oder ein Nacheinander beider archäologischer Kulturgruppen spricht. and CEMETERIES OF THE RÖSSEN CULTURE ON THE EASTERN EDGE OF THE HARZ. In recent years three small cemeteries or grave groups of the Rössen culture were investigated at Hettstedt and at Oberwiederstedt (Saxony–Anhalt) on the eastern edge of the Harz. In this paper only Graves 90 and 95 of Cemetery 2 are discussed. Grave 90 contained two marble armrings, one of which was broken and had been repaired in antiquity. The head and chest of the man in Grave 95 were covered with cattle ribs, a custom which has possibly developed within the distribution area of the Hinkelstein culture. On the basis of associated vessels the graves are dated to the late Rössen to Bischheim periods. The cemeteries at the eastern edge of the Harz show various similarities with the eponymous cemetery of the Rössen culture. These include, instance, their position on the edge of plateaus bounded by two steep slopes, and the presence of graves of the Gatersleben group on the west side of not only cemetery Oberwiederstedt 3a but also Rössen. This revives the question, to what extent the existence of Gatersleben graves on, or adjacent to, Rössen cemeteries suggests either contemporaneity or succession of the two archaeological cultural groups.

Česká část Slezska, onen „plot Slezska”, jak to vyjádřila již Marie Terezie, je okrajem slezského území. Úzký vztah mezi Opavskem a Horním Slezskem v období lužické kultury se výrazně projevuje i na pohřebišti v Kietrzi. Zemědělské osídlení se soustředilo podél řeky Opavy a na Hlučínsku, ale početné předměty mimořádné kvality z rozsáhlých pohřebišť v okolí měst Opavy a Krnova naznačují tehdejší význam této oblasti. Již pro dobu bronzovou je doložena těžba zlata v Suché Rudné. K rozkvětu oblasti v období lužické kultury jistě přispěly i kovy z Jeseníků. and The Czech Silesia is, as already the empress Maria Theresia stated, only a ‘fence’ of the country, a narrow strip; its Lausitz culture is close in its character to that of Polish Silesia, well known especially from the cemetery of Kietrz. The agricultural settlement is located along the Opava river and in the Hlučín district only, but exceptionaly bronze objects from large cemeteries around the towns of Opava and Krnov show a particular importance of this marginal region. The mining of gold at Suchá Rudná is attested already for the Bronze Age, and the metals in the Jeseníky Mountains apparently contributed to the flourishing of the area during the development of the Lausitz culture.

Týká se to například problematiky otisků textilií v korozních produktech, nálezů štípané industrie v hrobech nebo koster koní, které byly na pohřebišti odkryty v samostatných hrobech. Značná část knihy je věnována základnímu rozboru pohřebiště – analýza pohřbené populace, způsobu ukládání mrtvých a pohřebního inventáře. Ucelené zpracování dostupných dat tak umožnilo zasadit pohřebiště do konkrétního prostorového a časového rámce Moravy na úsvitu dějin. ,The book contains a complete information summary about the early medieval cemetery in Olomouc - Nemilany. Individual chapters inform the readers step by step about the history of the research and about the archaeological contexts of the graves. To some aspects of the grave goods are reserved special chapters. This applies to subjects such as imprints of textiles in corrosion products, findings of stone chipped artefacts in graves or as horse skeletons that were uncovered in the cemetery in the separate graves. Considerable part of the book is devoted to the basic burial ground analysis - analysis of the buried population, burial customs analysis and burial inventory analysis. Comprehensive processing of available data allows to put this cemetery in a particular spatial and chronological framework of Moravia at the dawn of history.
