A myxosporean producing actinospores of the tetractinomyxon type in Hydroides norvegicus Gunnerus (Serpulidae) in Denmark was identified as a member of the family Parvicapsulidae based on small-subunit ribosomal DNA (SSU rDNA) sequences. Myxosporean samples from various Danish and Norwegian marine fishes were examined with primers that detect the novel myxosporean. Sprattus sprattus (Linnaeus) and Clupea harengus Linnaeus (Teleostei, Clupeidae) were found to be infected. The sequences of this parvicapsulid from these hosts were consistently slightly different (0.8% divergence), but both these genotypes were found in H. norvegicus. Disporic trophozoites and minute spores of a novel myxosporean type were observed in the renal tubules of some of the hosts found infected through PCR. The spores appear most similar to those of species of Gadimyxa Køie, Karlsbakk et Nylund, 2007, but are much smaller. The actinospores of the tetractinomyxon type from H. norvegicus have been described previously. In GenBank, the SSU rDNA sequences of Parvicapsulidae gen. sp. show highest identity (82%) with Parvicapsula minibicornis Kent, Whitaker et Dawe, 1997 infecting salmonids (Oncorhynchus spp.) in fresh water in the western North America. A phylogenetic analysis places P. minibicornis and Parvicapsulidae gen. sp. in a sister clade to the other parvicapsulids (Parvicapsula spp. and Gadimyxa spp.).
A total of 22 specimens of whiting Merlangius merlangus (L.) (Teleostei, Gadidae) from the northern Øresund, Denmark were examined for Myxosporea. Zschokkella hildae Auerbach, 1910 (Myxidiidae), Gadimyxa sp. (Parvicapsulidae) and a species of Bipteria occurred in the renal tubules of 9%, 18% and 68% whiting, respectively. Immature spores of the Bipteria species are very similar to spores of Myxoproteus formosus Kovaleva et Gaevskaya, 1979 originally described from the urinary system of whiting from the Celtic Sea. We therefore consider Bipteria sp. from whiting in Denmark conspecific with M. formosus and propose Bipteria formosa (Kovaleva et Gaevskaya, 1979) comb. n. The spore of Bipteria formosa is described in detail and compared with other Bipteria spp. The phylogenetic position of B. formosa, based on partial 18S rDNA sequences, is closest to Leptotheca fugu Tun, Yokoyama, Ogawa et Wakabayashi, 2000 and the Sphaerosporidae.

Rove beetles (Staphylinidae) are used to explore the forces that shaped the terrestrial fauna on Læsø, a young ca. 3000 year old Danish oceanic island located in the Kattegat strait between mainland Denmark and Sweden. We compile a detailed list of species of rove beetles for Læsø (328 species) and the surrounding Danish and Swedish regions (altogether 1075 species), which includes a standardized inventory of their body sizes, and the habitat and microhabitat preference of each species. The composition of the fauna on Læsø and adjacent mainland regions points to North-Eastern Jutland as the main source of the rove beetles on Læsø. Although large beetles are more active and likely to disperse than small beetles, there is no bias towards large species on the island indicating that the sea separating Læsø from the mainland has not been a barrier for rove beetle dispersal. The statistical analysis of the habitat and microhabitat preferences of the species of the entire system studied has shown that Læsø, compared to the mainland areas, is distinctly more dominated by ecological generalists, especially by species adapted to ephemeral, temporary humid microhabitats. Presumably, the mosaic of mostly dry open habitats available on Læsø filters for species, that are able to populate these suboptimal habitats via patches of humid but ephemeral microhabitats. A new myxosporean species Ellipsomyxa gobii gen. et sp. n. is described from the common goby Pomatoschistus microps (Krøyer) (Perciformes, Gobiidae). Plasmodia with long branched pseudopodia in the gallbladder develop to subspherical bisporous plasmodia. The myxospores were found in the gallbladder, and the hepatic and bile ducts. The new genus is characterised by the morphology of the myxospores. The myxospores have smooth thin valves elongated in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the straight central transverse indistinct sutural line. The two spherical polar capsules open some distance from the sutural line on opposite sides. The new genus thereby differs from Leptotheca Thélohan, 1895. Ellipsomyxa gobii is tentatively placed in the Ceratomyxidae.
A detailed study of Taraxacum sect. Ruderalia for the 8th volume of the Flora of the Czech Republic revealed five new agamospermous species, viz. T. atroviride Štěpánek et Trávníček, T. clarum Kirschner, Štěpánek et Trávníček, T. moldavicum Chán, H. Ollgaard, Štěpánek, Trávníček et Žíla, T. urbicola Kirschner, Štěpánek et Trávníček and T. violaceifrons Trávníček. These species are formally described, thoroughly characterized morphologically and compared with similar taxa. They are known from numerous localities in Central Europe; T. moldavicum, in addition to the Central European distribution, is known to occur in two regions in Denmark. All these species are also documented by photographs of their general habit and important features.
Data available in each EU member state regarding the numbers of people infected with Covid-19, tested for it and vaccinated against it suggest that Denmark has been one of the most successful ones, as it has (at least for now) managed to somewhat keep a balance between the protection of life and health and economic loss. The designated legal framework enabling the protection of public health was enacted within one day through an unprecedented emergency parliamentary ruling, though. Based on this act, all the necessary actions were taken for almost a year through implementing legislation and/or non-binding recommendation.
In this text, the grounds for the amendments of the Act on measures against infectious and other transmittable illnesses (Lov om foranstaltninger mod smitsomme og andre overførbare sygdomme), i.e. the amendments from 12th March 2020 and subsequently the new Act on epidemic are going to be analysed. Furthermore, the relevant legal regulation for protection of public health in times of epidemic in Denmark is going to be introduced in a way which also shows the main similarities and differences to the Czech legal regulation. and Z dostupných statistik ohledně počtu nakažených onemocněním covid-19, počtu testovaných a počtu očkovaných v jednotlivých zemích EU vychází Dánsko jako jeden z premiantů a jako země, jež (alespoň prozatím) zvládla vybalancovat ochranu životů a zdraví a ekonomické ztráty. Přitom zákonný rámec, jak chránit veřejné zdraví v zcela bezprecedentní situaci novodobé dánské historie v boji s epidemií onemocnění covid-19, byl přijat dánským parlamentem během jediného dne ve zrychleném legislativním režimu a veškerá následná opatření za účelem ochrany veřejného zdraví byla na jeho základě po dobu téměř 1 roku prováděna formou podzákonných nařízení, případně nezávazných doporučení.
V tomto textu budou analyzovány důvody, proč bylo dne 12. 3. 2020 přistoupeno k novelizaci zákona o opatřeních proti infekčním a jiným přenosným chorobám (Lov om foranstaltninger mod smitsomme og andre overførbare sygdomme) a následně k přijetí zákona o epidemiích (Lov om epidemier) a bude představena platná právní úprava relevantní pro ochranu veřejného zdraví v době epidemie v Dánsku tak, aby bylo možné její rámcové srovnání s českou právní úpravou.
With Denmark faring reasonably well through the global financial crisis, the policy changes to the social housing sector caused by the crisis have been limited. Nevertheless, changes have taken place nonetheless both in terms of policy and in the residential composition of the sector which policies are trying to react upon. This means that the sector is at a cross-road as this paper will show. The future remains uncertain; depending to a large extent on the application of the policies already in place and policy reactions to the current challenges.
Sequencing of SSU rDNA showed that actinospores of the tetractinomyxon type, which develop in Chone infundibuliformis Krøyer (Annelida, Polychaeta, Sabellidae) from the northern Øresund, Denmark, are identical with Ceratomyxa auerbachi Kabata, 1962 (Myxozoa, Ceratomyxidae). This myxosporean was found in the gallbladder of the Atlantic herring Clupea harengus L. from the northern Øresund, Denmark, and from the Bergen area, western Norway. The pansporocysts and actinospores of C. auerbachi are described. This is the third elucidated two-host life cycle of a marine myxozoan, and the first involving a marine ceratomyxid.
