- The library of the Counts von Manderscheid-Blankenheim at Blankenheim Castle vas established in the 1470s and closed after Napoleon's army invaded the Rhineland in 1794. The last owner of the castle, Augusta von Sternberg-Manderscheid, probably took some of the books to the Sternberg Palace in Prague. After the sale of the Sternberg library in 1830, it was incorporated into the Lobkowicz princes Prague palace library, with which it was incorporated into the National Library of the Czech Republic fonds in 1928. The present study presents the results of research into the manuscript fonds of the Prague Lobkowicz library, which was based on the discovered Lobkowicz list of purchased Sternberg manuscripts. It presents a total of seven manuscripts of Blankenheim origin from the first half of the 13th century to the first half of the 16th century.

- Description:
- Rentgenofluorescenční a infračervená spektroskopie patří mezi nejvíce využívané analytické metody při materiálových průzkumech iluminovaných rukopisů, kodexů a graduálů. V článku je stručně popsán princip obou metod a základní instrumentace. Na třech konkrétních případech - průzkumu rukopisů z archivního fondu Desky zemské Království českého, Kodexu Václava z Jihlavy a Graduálu mistra Václava - je ukázáno využití informací získaných pomocí těchto metod pro samotné konzervování a restaurování., X-ray fluorescence and infrared spectroscopy are the most widely used analytical methods for material surveys of illuminated manuscripts, codexes and graduals. This article briefly describes the principle of both methods and basic instrumentation. In three specific cases - a survey of manuscripts from the archival fund of Land registers of the Bohemian Kingdom, the Václav o Jihlava Codex and the Gradual Master Wenceslas - the use of information obtained through these methods for preservation and restoration is demonstrated., Michal Ďurovič, Tomáš Trojek, Tomáš Čechák, Hana Paulusová, Klára Drábková., and Obsahuje bibliografii

- Language:

- Description:
- The manuscript presently deposited in Staatsbibliothek Preusischer Kulturbesitz in Berlin under the shelfmark Ms. Lat. quart. 654 allows a reconstruction of ways in which recent theological literature used to be spread in the first half of the fifteenth century. The manuscript that is comprised predominantly of texts aimed against the Hussite teachings belonged to the library of the Carthusian monastery of Salvatorberg near Erfurt. This case study thus uncovers one of the channels by which the polemical tractates were spread during the times of intense literary production provoked by Bohemian heresy. The article is appended by a detailed list of works contained in the manuscript and an edition of previously unpublished text Responsiones facte ad quatuor articulos, which expresses the opinion of Catholic theologians of the first crusade who participated in the debate with the Hussite representatives in the Lesser Town of Prague in July of 1420. and Pavel Soukup.
