This article focuses on Qatar and its public diplomacy. Qatar, the oil-rich monarchy located in the Persian Gulf, uses the staging of famous sporting events as a very important diplomatic tool. The awarding of the football World Cup 2022 is one of the biggest success stories of Qatari public diplomacy. Nevertheless, this event is only one of many similar activities, which, along with other public diplomacy tools, is aimed at improving Qatar´s image in the region and also within the international community. If Qatar is successful in hosting the football World Cup, which is one of the most popular sporting events in the world, it will gain the prestige it craves in the international arena. and Jiří Zákravský.
The study deals with the historical determinants, concepts and practical implementation of the foreign policy of the Slovak Republic in the first decade of its existence (from its establishment in 1993 to Slovakia's accession to the NATO and EU in 2004). Author examines the external and internal factors shaping the Slovak foreign policy, i.e. in particular the dynamics, which on the one hand resulted from the attractiveness of NATO and the EU (and of the Western orientation in general) but on the other hand was based on the anti-liberal and nationalist political traditions and tendencies that were very significant in Slovakia in the respective period. and Článek zahrnuje poznámkový aparát pod čarou
The paper introduces the foreign policy of the Republic of Macedonia in the period 1991–2010. It focuses at the main players, the priorities and the foreign policy development. Integration to the NATO and the EU have been the most top priorities of the Macedonian foreign policy. However these two priorities are related to good relations with the southern neighbour – Greece, which has been insisting at a change of constitutional name of the Republic of Macedonia to allow Macedonia to enter the above mentioned international organizations. Another issue which downgrades Macedonian foreign policy is the strong politization of Ministry of Foreign Affairs which has a negative influence at the country's diplomatic service.
