Článek se věnuje fungování kanceláře České akademie věd a umění a jejím písemnostem. První část práce je zaměřena na funkcionáře. Nejprve je popsán způsob volby a počty členů Akademie, dále následuje přehled o funkcionářích, předsedech a prezidentech, generálních sekretářích (později generálních tajemnících), jejich pravomocích a faktickém podílu na vyřizování dokumentů. Každý z funkcionářů je zde krátce představen. U generálních sekretářů (později tajemníků) si můžeme povšimnout, že stejnou funkci zastávali zpravidla i ve své třídě, což jim bylo dobrou průpravou. Druhá část se věnuje pracovníkům kanceláře Akademie, počínaje ředitelem kanceláře, přes tajemníka a další zaměstnance až k manipulantovi. Jsou popsány jejich kompetence a podíl na tvorbě písemností. Taktéž i zde jsou jednotlivé osoby krátce představeny. Poslední část popisuje oběh, způsob evidence, vyřizování a následné ukládání písemností. Charakterizuje základní typy písemností Akademie. Snaží se zachytit a popsat všechny úkony, které byly s dokumentem provedeny od chvíle, kdy byl doručen do Akademie, až po jeho vyřízení a odeslání. Stejně tak popisuje vznik dokumentů vlastních. Všímá si též původního uložení, možností vyhledávání ve spisech a následného uspořádání dokumentů v dnešním archivním fondu České akademie věd a umění. Jednou z příloh je seznam nejvýznamnějších funkcionářů celé Akademie, jednotlivých tříd a správní komise, tedy všech těch, kdo se podíleli na tvorbě zásadních dokumentů Akademie., The article deals with the functioning of the Offices of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts and its documents. The first part is devoted to the officials. First is described the method of electing and numbers of members of the Academy, followed by an overview of the officers, chairmen and presidents, general secretaries, their authority and describes their real participation on handling of documents. Each of the officials is briefly introduced. For general secretaries we can note that they normally held the same function in its class, allowing them to good preparation. The second part deals with the office staff of the Academy, from the director of the office, through the secretary-general and other staff to the handler. It describes their skills and shear in the formation of the document. Also, here are individuals briefly introduced. The last part describes the circulation, the method of recording, processing and subsequent storage of documents. It describes the basic types of documents. It tries to capture and describe all acts that were made with the document since it was delivered to the Academy, to its processing and dispatch. Similarly it describes the formation of own documents. Also notes the original order, the search options in the files and the subsequent arrangement of documents in today´s archival resources of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts.
