Monografie shrnuje hlavní výstupy výzkumu podporovaného agenturou GAČR s názvem Chování zdraví podporující a chování zdraví ohrožující: determinanty, modely, konsekvence. Integruje pět studií rozdělených do jednotlivých kapitol, které řeší problematiku vztahů komponent chování souvisejícího se zdravím s vybranými osobnostními charakteristikami, konstrukty optimismu a pesimismu, nadějí, ontogenezí a neuropsychologickými jevy. Prezentované poznatky a vyvozené závěry přispívají nejen k hlubšímu teoretickému pochopení sledovaných vztahů, ale také k praktické podpoře seberegulačních mechanismů čtenářů vedoucích k péči o jejich vlastní zdraví. Publikace je určena odborné veřejnosti, tematicky oslovuje především odborníky a studenty v oblasti psychologie, zdravotnictví, pedagogiky a dalších sociálních věd, kterým je blízká problematika lidského zdraví. ,The monograph summarizes the main outputs of the research called Health-promoting and Health-threatening Behaviour: Determinants, Models, and Consequences, supported by the Czech Science Foundation. It integrates five studies divided into individual chapters on the issue of health-related behavior and its relation to personality, constructs of optimism and pessimism, hope, ontogeny and neuropsychological phenomena. The presented conclusions contribute not only to a deeper theoretical understanding of the examined relations, but also to practical support of readers’ self-regulation mechanisms, which, consequently, help them take better care of their own health. The publication is intended for the professional public, thematically addresses primarily professionals and students in psychology, health, education and other social sciences, which deal with issues closely related to human health problems.
Monografie představuje současné psychologické konstrukty optimismu/pesimismu a jejich roli v kontextu zdraví a chování, které se zdravím souvisí. Klíčovou otázkou, kterou si její autorka klade, je, zda optimismus v kontextu zdraví přináší benefity, nebo je spojen spíše s riziky. Monografie integruje jedenáct empirických studií, z nichž většina byla realizována v průběhu čtyř na sebe navazujících výzkumných projektů podporovaných Grantovou agenturou ČR. Kromě konstruktů optimismu/pesimismu prověřuje i další demografické a osobnostní charakteristiky jako psychologické proměnné ovlivňující chování související se zdravím, jež je v dnešní době považováno za nejsilnější faktor podílející se na zdravotním stavu jedince. Monografie je určena především odborné veřejnosti, kromě studentů a odborníků v oblasti psychologie tematicky oslovuje i další zájemce rozvíjející společenské vědy se zájmem o problematiku lidského zdraví. ,The monograph presents the current psychological constructs of optimism / pessimism and their role in the context of health and health-related behavior. The central topic is shaped by the question of whether optimism in the context of health brings benefits or is rather associated with risks. The publication integrates eleven empirical studies, most of which were conducted in four follow-up research projects supported by the Czech Grant Agency. Apart from the constructs of optimism / pessimism, it also examines other demographic and personality characteristics as psychological variables influencing health-related behaviors, which are today considered the strongest factor contributing to the health of the individual. The publication is intended primarily for the professional public; besides students and experts in the field of psychology, it also addresses other interested parties developing social sciences with interest in the issue of human health.
