Autor podrobně popisuje taxonomii a historii objevů divokých oslů afrických (Equus africanus), hlavně forem osla danikilského (E. africanus taeniopus), nubijského (E. a. africanus) a somálského (E. a. somaliensis). This article presents the little known diary entries of the priest P. Václav Vojtěch Berenklau († 1699) primarily from the Kladruby period of his activities (1675-1677). An attempt is also made to compare his diary with a fragment from 1662-1663 of a priest's diary belonging to P. Jan Manner in Prague and the as yet largely unexamined diary specimens from the famous P. Bartoloměj Michal Zelenka from the time he was active in Brandýs nad Labem. In addition to these diaries, the diary is also compared with notes made by the distinguished Baroque preacher and writer O. F. De Waldt.

Coprological examinations of three snowy owls, Nyctea scandiaca (L.) revealed the presence of a coecidium of the genus Eimeria that apparently represents a previously undescribcd species. Oocysts of Eimeria nycteae sp. n. were spherical to subspherical, 23.6 (23-25) x 22.2 (22-23) pm with a shape index 1.1 (1.0-1.1). The oocyst wall was bilayered, smooth - 0.75 pin thick. A polar granule was absent. Sporocysts were ellipsoidal, 18.5 (18-19) x 9.8 (9-10) pm with a shape index 1.9 (1.8-2.1) with Stieda and substieda bodies. A sporocyst residuum was present as small granules scattered among sporozoitcs. The sequence of the sporulation process of this new species is given and illustrated with photomicrographs. Owls examined did not exhibit any signs of alteration of their health status.
The present article focuses on specific source for the history of religiosity and popular religiosity, namely, the epigraphic relics. In the introduction is mentioned the conceptual ambiguity of the term „religiosity“ in theoretical studies and the fact that some researchers prefer to study concrete aspects of religiosity than to establish theoretical conceptions. Two supplements attached to the article explain, among others, the occurrence and frequency of the cults of the saints in the studied area.
At present, the Somalia Wild Ass (Equus africanus somaliensis) is the most threatened equid worldwide. At the same time, its numbers in captivity are the lowest among the equids. The author focuses on the species’ past and present breeding in captivity and our knowledge of its reproduction biology.
This article deals with the manuscript of a little known Baroque sermon called "Rurale Ivaniticum" from the Library of the Prague Crusaders. Its author is the forgotten Carmelite P. Ivanus a S. Ioanne Baptista. The main subject is the usefulness of the manuscript for the study of 18th century popular culture in Bohemia. The sermon by P. Ivanus a S. Ioanne Baptista was aimed almost exclusively at the lower class rural population. Hence the "Rurale ivaniticum" manuscript provides quite frequent examples of didactically intended folk sayings, as well as attacks on folk demonology and oneiromancy. It is from these parts of the manuscript that a merger of scholarly and folk culture clearly emerges.
