- In this article for the communication via monomode optical fibres we describe the possibilities of dispersion effects reduction. Characteristics of microstructural fibres with honeycomb cladding are presented together with their advantages. Then the way of present optical data cabling employment is demonstrated for STM-256 optical communication. Modern communications require always higher bit rates and the present cabling is not ready for the arrival of new link standards. The infrastructure for high video signal transmission can serve as a sufficient example.
