Studie shrnuje poznatky z revizního průzkumu zlomku kovového předmětu z akropole hradiště v Libici nad Cidlinou, interpretovaného doposud jako fragment raně středověkého zvonu. Na základě morfologického a typologického rozboru, metalografické analýzy, chemických expertíz i zhodnocení výpovědní schopnosti archeologického kontextu autoři vylučují takovou interpretaci a dokazují, že se jedná o zlomek okraje hmoždíře či jiného litinového odlitku z dob průmyslové revoluce nebo i mladší. and The study summarizes information from the review of the fragment of a metal object from the acropolis of the fortified settlement in Libice nad Cidlinou from the collections of the National Museum in Prague interpreted heretofore as a fragment of an early medieval bell. On the basis of morphological and typological analyses, metallographic examination, chemical expertise and an evaluation of the testimonial capability of the archaeological context, the authors rule out the original interpretation and demonstrate that the object is a fragment of the rim of a mortar or other cast-iron product from the period of the Industrial Revolution or even later.
