A new generation of high-average power diode pumped solid-state lasers is being developed in the HiLASE project. This paper focuses on the concept of thin-disk laser and its advantages and disadvantages. The proposed scheme and final parameters of three picoseconds beamlines are presented and the overview of recent experimental achievements is reported. Output power of 50 W has been lately achieved in the 100 kHz beamline and the pulses were successfully stretched and recompressed by chirped volume Bragg gratings. Output power of the 1 kHz beamline is 45 W. Both beamlines have excellent beam profile close to a fundamental TEM00 mode, which is essential for future applications such as efficient XUV generation or laser damage threshold testing. The prospects to achieve at least 0.5 kW output power are discussed., Martin Smrž, Ondřej Novák, Michal Chýla, ... [et al.]., and Obsahuje bibliografii
