In the class of real hypersurfaces M²n−¹ isometrically immersed into a nonflat complex space form Mn(c) of constant holomorphic sectional curvature c (≠ 0) which is either a complex projective space ℂPn(c) or a complex hyperbolic space ℂHn(c) according as c > 0 or c < 0, there are two typical examples. One is the class of all real hypersurfaces of type (A) and the other is the class of all ruled real hypersurfaces. Note that the former example are Hopf manifolds and the latter are non-Hopf manifolds. In this paper, inspired by a simple characterization of all ruled real hypersurfaces in Mn(c), we consider a certain real hypersurface of type (A2) in ℂPn(c) and give a geometric characterization of this Hopf manifold., Byung Hak Kim, In-Bae Kim, Sadahiro Maeda., and Obsahuje bibliografii
The objectives of the study were to: (1) assess the strength of associations of direct CO2 and N2O emissions with the seasonal variations in the relevant soil properties under both tillage systems; 2) evaluate how CT and RT affect magnitudes of seasonal CO2 and N2O fluxes from soil. Field studies were carried out on plots for conventional tillage (up to 0.22–0.25 m) and reduced tillage (up to 0.10–0.12 m) during the growing season and post-harvest period of red clover. The results showed that daily CO2 emissions significantly correlated only with soil temperature during the growing season under conventional and reduced tillage. Soil temperature demonstrated its highest influence on daily N2O emissions only at the beginning of the growing season in both tillage systems. There were no significant inter-system differences in daily CO2 and N2O emissions from soil during the entire period of observations. Over the duration of post-harvest period, water-filled pore space was a better predictor of daily CO2 emissions from soils under CT and RT. The conventional and reduced tillage did not cause significant differences in cumulative N2O and CO2 fluxes from soil.
Václava na Matematicko-fyzikální fakultě Univerzity Karlovy., The progress made in exact sciences in the 20th century is also evident in archaeology. The effort to grasp aspects of society’s development from a point untouched by written sources has led to a close cooperation between natural-scientific and technical disciplines during the preservation and restoration of St. Wenceslas Rotunda at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University., Jarmila Čiháková, Martin Vlach, Luboš Veverka, Ilona Vlachová, Ivo Světlík., and Obsahuje bibliografické odkazy
Examination of freshwater fishes from the Parana River in southern Brazil during March 1992, revealed the presence of two new, previously undescribed species of the genus Goezia: G. brasiliensis sp. n. is described from the stomach of Brycon hilarii (family Characidae) (type host) and the intestine of Pseudoplatystoma coruscans (Pimelodidae) and it is characterized mainly by the length (0.802 mm) of spicules, number and arrangement of male caudal papillae (10 pairs of preanals and 4 pairs of postanals) and body measurements (male 11 mm, female 10-16 mm); the main characteristics of G. brevicaeca sp. n„ described from the stomach of Brycon hilarii, are a short anterior intestinal caecum reaching anteriorly only to the posterior end of oesophagus, comparatively short spicules (0.367 mm), number of male caudal papillae (20 pairs of preanals and 4 pairs of postanals) and an elongate, rather long body (male 17 mm, female 23 mm).
The article describes the experimental research made in specific canal with free surface. It records the changes of velocity revolutions of the current meter propellers OTT in dependence on water temperature. The authors describe the methods of measuring, data evaluation and the ways their results can be used in practice in order to improve hydrometric propeller measuring. and Článek prezentuje dílčí výsledky experimentálního výzkumu, zaměřeného na posouzení vlivu teploty vody v měrném žlabu na rychlost otáčení propelerů u hydrometrických vrtulí firmy OTT. Jsou zde uvedeny způsoby měření a vyhodnocování naměřených dat a je naznačen způsob uplatnění dosažených výsledků při hydrometrování v praxi.
The Zittau library of Christian Weise has an extensive collection of manuscripts, among which we find a number of early modern-era chronicles relating particularly to the six towns of the Lusatian League. One of these is the Zittau Chronicle by Tobiáš Schnürer from the 16th century, preserved in a later transcription, in which he chronologically recorded the most important events of his era, including the names of members of the Town Council. Memorial and chronicle records are also included in a collection of manuscripts by Abraham Frenzel (1656-1740). This includes a preserved transcription of an early modern-era chronicle of Sorau (Żary), which details the problems of life in the town and the local authority at the time. Another of Frenzel's preserved manuscripts describes the journey through Europe made by Michael Frank at the end of the sixteenth century, including his visit to Bohemia.
