Podává přehled stavu výzkumu, nálezové základny a přírodního prostředí sídelních regionů – dolního Poohří a Podřipska, Podkrušnohorského úvalu a středního Poohří, sleduje strukturu osídlení obou kultur a jeho datování. Rozdíly mezi situací v severozáp. a středních Čechách skýtají možnost sledovat na regionální úrovni proměny, k nimž zde v průběhu šesti fází středního eneolitu docházelo. and Baden and Řivnáč culture in northwest Bohemia. The work is based on a list of Baden culture finds and those from the ensuing Řivnáč culture in the territory of northwest Bohemia. It provides an overview of the status of research, the base for finds and the natural environment of the settlement regions – the lower and central Ohře River regions, Říp Hill surrounding and region under Krušné hory/Mts.: the work follows the settlement structure of both cultures and the dating of this settlement. Baden culture is represented here to a significantly weaker extent than in central Bohemian regions and settlement is not reliably documented until the later phase of the middle (classic) stage. On the other hand, the datable Řivnáč culture assemblages fall exclusively into its earlier stage, indicating that this culture existed here for a shorter period than in central Bohemia, most likely due to the arrival of the Globular Amphora culture. Perhaps this is the same reason there was no development of hillforts here as in central Bohemia. The differences between the situations in northwest and central Bohemia offer an opportunity to follow the transformations on the regional level that occurred here during the course of the six phases of the middle Eneolithic period.
Z politicko–správního hlediska je proto pravděpodobná jejich prvotní vazba na kouřimsko–kolínské „knížectví“. and THE EARLY MEDIEVAL KUTNÁ HORA REGION: THE CIMBURK AND SIÓN HILLFORTS. An overview of the evidence of Early Medieval settlement at two spur hill–forts on the Vrchlice river south of Kutná Hora. The first of these is Cimburk, a polycultural upland settlement occupied as early as the Eneolithic, where trenches dug in 1989–1990 revealed settlement features and fortifications (ditch and rampart) dated by ceramics to between the Early and beginning of the Late “Hill–fort” period. The second enclosure is that of Sión, on the site of the acropolis of which the Hussite Hetman Jan Roháč z Dubé built a castle, which was investigated in 1961–1964. The Early Medieval ceramics found here indicate long–term settlement from the Early to the Later and Final “Hill–fort” periods. The peripheral locations of the two sites in the Early Medieval ecumene, along with a certain remoteness from lines of long distance communication and the central places of the region, show that both probably fulfilled the role of refuges, alternating over time with short phases of stable settlement. Both lie on the western edge of the Čáslav region, which lay out of the Přemyslid demesne. From the politico–administrative perspective, it is thus likely that they were originally associated with the Kouřim/Kolín “principality”.
Příspěvek přináší shrnutí poznatků o raně středověkém pohřbívání v aglomeraci hradiště v Libici nad Cidlinou. Díky soustavnému, více než jedno století trvajícímu zájmu archeologie máme k dispozici poměrně ucelený obraz vývoje významného raně středověkého centra. Rozlišení tří hlavních chronologických horizontů umožňuje sledovat v kontextu pohřebišť i dynamiku vývoje celé lokality. Na základě srovnání jednotlivých pohřebišť se autor pokouší o vymezení sociotopografie celé aglomerace hradiště a zároveň poukazuje na limity tohoto poznání založeného pouze na archeologických pramenech. and This paper provides a summary of knowledge relating to Early Medieval burial within the agglomeration of the fortified enclosure at Libice nad Cidlinou. Thanks to consistent interest on the part of archaeology for more than a century, a relatively complete picture is now available of the development of this important Early Medieval centre. The discernment of three main chronological horizons makes it possible to trace the development dynamic of the entire site in the context of the cemeteries. On the basis of a comparison of the individual cemeteries the author attempts to define the sociotopography of the whole enclosure agglomeration, and at the same time show the limits of this understanding based purely on the archaeological material.
