The library of the Czech historian Tomaš Pešina of Čechorod who lived in the time after the White Mountain is nowadays part of the family library of the Wallensteins which is housed at the castle in Mnichovo Hradiště. This article focuses on the series of chronicles coming from the estate of Pešina and created around the mid 14th century. The codex contains both copies of national chronicles (Chronicle by Bartošek of Drahonice, Chronicle by Přibik Pulkava of Radonin and Old Czech Annals) and chronicles of the Mladá Boleslav Town and Žatec Town.
a1_This paper considers the influence of Enlightenment thinking on the pedagogical works of Jan Valerián Jirsík (1798-1883), who earned a place in Czech history as a priest, theologian, active patriot, education campaigner, pedagogue, writer and not least as the fourth Bishop of České Budějovice (Budweis), an office he held from 1851 until his death. Primarily, it draws on and follows up ideas in the writings of the theologian Ctirad Václav Pospíšil and the church historian Kamila Veverková, who both trace the links between Jirsík the theologist and thinkers associated with Bernard Bolzano. Jirsík’s early writings, however, are as much concerned with pedagogy as they are with theology, and the aim of this study is to discover whether his ideas on education were similarly influenced by Enlightenment thinking. It analyses his views on the subject before 1851, i.e. until he became Bishop of Budweis - specifically in the period 1826-1843, when he was much occupied with questions of education and upbringing. In his years as bishop he devoted little time to literary pursuits. The study concludes that the legacy of the Enlightenment era most certainly played an important part in Jirsík’s deliberations on education. There is, however, a certain progression discernible in his thinking. In the early period, of which Sunday School (1826) is a representative text, we see the influence of contemporary Enlightenment clerical pedagogy as he advocates extending human knowledge through reason in order to improve living conditions. Faith and religion are also factors here, especially in his emphasis on the positive role of God the Creator. In the second period under consideration (1836-43), we find closer parallels between Jirsík’s pedagogical and theological thinking., a2_Within ten years of writing Sunday School, his position had shifted from that of a priest attempting to expand or improve education in the spirit of Enlightenment ecclesiastical pedagogy to that of a theologian (and so-called ‘true’ enlightener) who from theological considerations drew conclusions for the educational process. In Jirsík’s view, Christianity and Enlightenment go hand in hand, serving to elevate human life spiritually as well as materially. For him education means the enlightenment of both soul and reason. Nor does he see any contradiction between faith and rationality. It is evident from his thinking that he was convinced of the need to implement the pedagogical ideal of the Enlightenment: to educate virtuous citizens who were also rational., Rudolf Svoboda., and Obsahuje bibliografické odkazy
Responses of stem net photosynthetic rate (P^) to irradiance (/), temperature, vapor pressure, CO2 concentration, nitrogen content, and water potential were studied during early spring (March) and mid summer (latě July) in field populations of two stem photosynthesizing species introduced into Coastal California sites. Stem in Spartium junceum was inhibited in the summer compared with the spring due to low water potential and low tissue nitrogen content. Quantum yield decreased from March to July, along with a decrease in the demand fimction of the C, response curves. Stem conductance was lower at all vapor pressure deficits during the summer, but Cj at a Cg of 350 pmol moE* increased for S. junceum from spring to summer. The thermal optimum for stem did not change between the two seasons, but that of S. junceum was 5 °C higher than that for Cytisus scoparius. The demand function for the Cj curves of C. scoparius also decreased from spring to summer, but the Cj at a Cg of 350 pmol moT* remained unchanged between the seasons. Thus, the water use efficiency of S. junceum decreased in the summer compared with that of the spring while that of C. scoparius remained unchanged between seasons. There was little evidence for compensatory acclimation of stem F^ to changes in climatic conditions in these species.
Water flow in a single fracture with variable aperture was studied by means of numerical modeling. For this purpose, two numerical models were developed. Computer simulations of water flow rates, fracture contact areas and transmissivities for fractal and nonfractal fractures were performed. Water flow rates were approximated by a trend function. The effect of the grid size upon the stability of results as well as the dependence of the fracture transmissivity on rate of contact area were studied. The achieved results were compared with measured data. and Studie se věnuje proudění podzemní vody v samostatné puklině metodou numerického modelování. K tomu účelu jsme vyvinuli dva numerické modely. Byly provedeny série numerických simulací proudění vody a výpočtu kontaktní plochy a transmisivity pukliny pro obecný typ pukliny. Byly studovány vliv velikosti sítě generované pukliny na stabilitu perkolačních charakteristik a závislost propustnosti pukliny na poměrné velikosti kontaktní plochy. Získané výsledky byly vyhodnocovány ve vztahu ke známým experimentálním datům.
