Let M be a given nonempty set of positive integers and S any set of nonnegative integers. Let δ(S) denote the upper asymptotic density of S. We consider the problem of finding µ(M) := sup S δ(S), where the supremum is taken over all sets S satisfying that for each a, b ∈ S, a − b ∉ M. In this paper we discuss the values and bounds of µ(M) where M = {a, b, a + nb} for all even integers and for all sufficiently large odd integers n with a < b and gcd(a, b) = 1.

A systematical exposition of the concept of number cannot be found in Aquinas’ works. Nevertheless, there are many places where the problem is touched. The problem is encountered on the one hand within the discussion of the category of quantity and on the other hand when Aquinas speaks about transcendental concepts and deals with the problem of numerical statements concerning God. The aim of the paper is to reconstruct, on the basis of Aquinas more or less fragmentary ideas, his concept of number., Systematický výklad pojmu čísla nelze nalézt v dílech Akvinů. Existuje však mnoho míst, kde se problém dotýká. Problém se objevuje na jedné straně v rámci diskuse o kategorii kvantity a na druhé straně, když Aquinas hovoří o transcendentálních pojmech a zabývá se problémem číselných tvrzení o Bohu. 4. Two lists of Waldensian errors in manuscripts I F 230 and I F 707 in Wrocław University Library

This paper analyses two lists of errors in the Waldesian cult, as contained in manuscripts I F 230 (from 1399, and its twin manuscript Mil II 58), as well as I F 707 (from the early 15th century). The list in manuscript I F 230 was compiled earlier, whereas the one from manuscript I F 707 is identical with the list included in manuscript No. 229 from the library in Pelplin. The comparison of the anti-heretic lists of errors from manuscripts I F 230 and I F 707, as well as the analysis of their contents, reveals similarities and leads to a conclusion that they both refer to writings by inquisitor Petrus Zwicker, while the list in I F 230 could have been even authored by him.
