Species found include: Trichodina acuta Lom, 1961 from Cyprinus carpio L., Carassius auralus L., Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum), Salmo trutta L. and Phoxinus phoxinus L.; Trichodina domerguei Wallengren, 1897 from Gasterosteus aculeatuir L.; Trichodina tenuidens Faurc-Fremiet, 1944 from Gasterosteus aculeatus; Trichodina pediculus Ehrenberg, 1838 from Gasterosteus aculeatus; Trichodina modesta Lom, 1970 from Abramis brama L.; Trichodina nigra Lom, 1960 from Cyprinus carpio, Salmo trutta and Oncorhynchus mykiss', and Trichodina intermedia Lom, 1960 from Phoxinus phoxinus. Morphological variation within and between host populations and host specificity of the Trichodina species recovered are described.

- Description:
- High-irradiance (HI) stress induced changes in the photosynthetic energy storage (ES) of photosystems 1 (ESPS1) and 2 (ESPS2) were studied with 650 nm modulated radiation in intact sugar maple (Acer saccharum Marsh.) leaves. HI-treatment (420 W m-2, 1 h) caused an inhibition of about 40 % in ESPS2 and an enhancement of about 60 % in ESPS1. The rate of PS1 cyclic electron transport, measured with 705 nm modulated radiation, also increased in HI-treated leaves. There was a clear state 1- state 2 transition in HI-treated leaves. ESPS1 increased significantly and ESPS2 decreased drastically in leaves preadapted to state 1 after HI (600 W m-2, 30 min) treatment. Thus, the increase in PS1 activity observed immediately after HI-treatment in leaves preadapted to state 1 can be due to the coupling of LHC2 to PS1 during the HI-treatment. Further, the dissociation of LHC2 from PS2 during the HI-treatment resulted in apparently (about 15 %) greater inhibition than the "true" inhibition of PS2 activity. The presence of LHC2 with PS2 (state 1) at the time of HI-treatment caused no additional damage to PS2 or its coupling to PS1 offered no apparent HI-treatment. The presence of LHC2 with PS2 (state 1) at the time of HI-treatment caused no additional damage to PS2 or its coupling to PS1 offered no apparent protection to the photosynthetic apparatus. and K. 4. Mapping the thickness of quaternary sediments in the Iška alluvial fan (Central Slovenia) using microtremor method

- Description:
- Resonance frequencies of unconsolidated sediments of the Iška alluvial fan (Ljubljana Moor basin) were derived using microtremor method. Free-field measurements were conducted in a grid with point spacing of approximately 250 m. The sediments frequency-thickness relationship, h = 202.97 f -1.139, was obtained on the basis of 107 microtremor measurements, six existing boreholes that reached the Pre-Quaternary basement and two seismic reflection profiles. The reliance of the obtained relationship was evaluated with the R2 coefficient, which shows a very good level of determination. The resonance frequency map reveals the existence of an N-S oriented deeper buried valley (maximum depth 119 m) in the Western part of the alluvial fan. The microtremor HVSR amplitude map does not show any specific spatial distribution pattern, with the exception of a relatively narrow band of low amplitudes located north of Iška vas. This is probably related to an area of severely fractured bedrock along the Mišji Dol fault. Map of the Quaternary sediment thickness and map of the Pre-Quaternary basement topography were constructed on the basis of the established relationship. The basement topography map shows rather steep western slopes of the buried valley down to deepest part, followed by a gradually ascending basement towards the Eastern part of the fan. The comparison of the obtained parameters a and b in frequency-thickness relationship with other sedimentary basins around the world reveals a small variation of b values, and a rather large range of a values, which implies that the parameter a is characteristic for certain geological areas. The results of this research will find use in constructing more accurate hydrogeological models and for assessment of possible sediments-structure resonance effects in seismic microzonation., Lovro Rupar and Andrej Gosar., and Obsahuje bibliografii

- Description:
- Five new species of Potamotrygonocotyle (Monocotylidae) are described and Paraheteronchocotyle amazonense Mayes, Brooks et Thorson, 1981 (Hexabothriidae) is redescribed from monogenoideans collected on the gills of species of Potamotrygonidae from the Negro River, Amazon, Brazil. Potamotrygonocotyle quadracotyle sp. n. and P. umbella sp. n. were found parasitizing an undescribed species of Potamotrygon; Potamotrygonocotyle rarum sp. n. is described from Potamotrygon schroederi; Potamotrygonocotyle rionegrense inhabits Potamotrygon cf. motoro; Potamotrygonocotyle aramasae sp. n. is a parasite of Paratrygon aiereba; and Paraheteronchocotyle amazonense is reported from Potamotrygon orbignyi. The diagnosis of Paraheteronchocotyle is emended, and P. amazonense is redescribed.

- Description:
- We show new results on when a pseudo-slant submanifold is a LCS-manifold. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a submanifold to be pseudo-slant are given. We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the integrability of distributions which are involved in the definition of the pseudo-slant submanifold. We characterize the pseudo-slant product and give necessary and sufficient conditions for a pseudo-slant submanifold to be the pseudo-slant product. Also we give an example of a slant submanifold in an LCS-manifold to illustrate the subject.
