- Description:
- Intestinal microsporidiosis was documented by detecting abundant slightly curved spores (2.9 x 1.2 pm) in the faeces of five of twelve skinks Mabuya perrotetii Duméril et Bibron, 1839 that originated from Ghana. Clinically, the microsporidiosis was characterized by decreased appetite, diarrhea, and weight loss. Histopathological changes consisted of villous atrophy, blunting of mucosa and flattening of individual epithelial cells in the large intestine. The ultrastructure of microsporidian spores was consistent with an Encephalitozoon species. The PCR-RFLP assay and the heleroduplex mobility shift analyses were used to verify that the skink microsporidian is a species of the genus Encephalitozoon Levaditi, Nicolau et Schoen, 1923 and indicate that this microsporidian is not E. hellem, E. intestinalis or a strain of E. cuniculi. The microsporidia in African skink represent an Encephalitozoon species morphologically identical to Encephalitozoon lacerine Canning, 1981.

4. On extensions of primary almost totally projective abelian groups

- Subject:
- totally projective group, almost totally projective group, countable group, and extension
- Language:

- Description:
- Suppose G is a subgroup of the reduced abelian p-group A. The following two dual results are proved: (∗) If A/G is countable and G is an almost totally projective group, then A is an almost totally projective group. (∗∗) If G is countable and nice in A such that A/G is an almost totally projective group, then A is an almost totally projective group. These results somewhat strengthen theorems due to Wallace (J. Algebra, 1971) and Hill (Comment. Math. Univ. Carol., 1995), respectively.

- Description:
- One of vital and challenging tasks is to improve double suction pump performance in conditions when essential changes of their parameters are required without playing with their dimension in case of adapting their capacity to seasonality or flow-rtae change for a long time interval or for pipelines at various stage of their development. In this paper a few design options of flow parts executed for the same casing have been examined: - Nominal mode: Semi-volute suction chamber, double suction impeller and double volute discharge chamber; - Suboptimal mode: replaceable impellers and diffusers are used (same suction and discharge chambers) Numerical analysis results of the flow parts are presented in this article. Double suction pumps with projected diffuser for replaceable rotor with 0.6 Qn flow-rate and with perspective diffusers engineered within ANSYS CFX-12.0. The latter (perspective diffusers) have been analyzed to find final ways to reduce hydraulic losses. Q-H, power consumption and performance curves are also given. Numerical experiment is an effective method for predicting patterns of characteristic curves even for such sophisticated flow parts as double suction pumps with a combined discharge chamber. and Obsahuje seznam literatury

- Subject:
- continuous action reinforcement learning automata and active magnetic bearing
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- The active magnetic bearing control through analytically designed linear PD regulator, with parallel nonlinear compensation represented by automatic approximator is described in this contribution. Coefficient (parameter) values come from actions of Continuous Action Reinforcement Learning Automata (CARLAs). Modified algorithm for automata implementation is used which continuously updates learning parameters according to former learning process. The goal of this on-line training is formulated as achievement of minimum mean square of control error. Described concept of control is proved by simulation study. It is shown that the significant improvement of whole system behavior can be achieved. and Obsahuje seznam literatury
