When the dimensions of standard commercial chambers for measuring gas exchange cannot accommodate the object being measured, scientists construct their own chambers. The time needed to reach chamber steady state (chamber response time) depends on net system volume (e.g. chamber and tubing volume) and airflow. Unfortunately, some authors take chamber response time into consideration while others ignore it. We present the formula for calculating chamber response time. and I. Weiss, Y. Mizrahi, E. Raveh.
At present, the Amplitude-Magnitude (AM) method is largely applied for determining the spin axis direction of asteroids; such a method gives results which are in general in a good agreement with those
obtained by means of essentially different methods. However, one of the crltical assumptions of the AM method is that asteroids are modelled as triaxial ellipsoids with semiaxes a>b>c. Although
such an hypothesis appears reasonable for large objects on the basis of physical considerations about their expected equilibrium shapes, very irregular figures are more plausible for smaller objects, probably dominated by solid-state forces. Therefore, it is worth-while to study the influence that deviations from a purely triaxial ellipsoid shape can háve on the derived spin axis direction. For this purpose, a numerlcal program has been developed in order to compute the lightcurves of irregularly shaped objects at given aspect angles. The present paper reports some preliminary results concerning the uncertainty of the rotation axis direction of asteroids when non-triaxial shapes are considered.
''Good morning, Oscar Kilo 2 Kilo Yankee Juliet. I have you by five nine now and it is a huge privilege to be speaking with the Czech Republic for the first time HAM radio call and I am ready for your questions. OVER.'' The history was written by these clearly recognizable words heard on 8th March 2016 in one of the classroom of Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic. The voice on the radio belonged to astronaut Tim Peake aboard the International Space Station (ISS). All this was the culmination of several years of planning under the international project of ARISS. and ''Good morning, Oscar Kilo 2 Kilo Yankee Juliet. I have you by five nine now and it is a huge privilege to be speaking with the Czech Republic for the first time HAM radio call and I am ready for your questions. OVER.'' Těmito v rádiu čistě slyšitelnými slovy byla 8. 3. 2016 v jedné z místností Přírodovědecké fakulty Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci psána historie. Hlas totiž patřil Timovi Peakovi, toho času astronautovi pobývajícímu na Mezinárodní vesmírné stanici (ISS), přičemž ono rádiové spojení s místností plné studentů a hostů bylo završením několikaletého plánování pod mezinárodním projektem ARISS.
An analytical averaging theory founded on the elliptic restricted three-body problem and valid for libration motions shows that there are forbidden intervals in the distribution of the mean semi-major axes at the resonance (p+1) : p. The actual asteroids may cross these gaps but they cannot remain there. Some 15 of the presently known Hildas are in the gap and some of them may cross it completely. The Griquas are presently at the left of the gap but some of them periodically cross the gap.
