Narodila se roku 1997 v Montréalu do rodiny Blaise Abandy a Cicle Assono Ahibenové, která pochází z Kamerunu.
She has been a member of Tennis Canada's National Training Centre in Montreal since 2009.
Tenis začala hrát v sedmi letech, když následovala o tři roky starší sestru Élisabethu Abandovou, která také hraje na profesionální úrovni.
Her sister Élisabeth also played tennis professionally, and is currently a student at Barry University.
