The theatre opened with a performance of Bedřich Smetana's opera Prodaná nevěsta (The Bartered Bride) with Ota Horáková in the role of Mařenka. The orchestra is conducted by Václav Talich. Minister Jan Kapras and Oberlandrat (Supreme District Councillor) Gottfried Hertel are present in the audience.
