Description
The segment shows the final stages of the Masaryk Stadium reconstruction in Strahov. The stadium was adapted for 160,000 spectators in preparation for the 9th Všesokolský slet (9th All Sokol Gathering) in 1932. The original wooden stadium of the same floor plan with partially uncovered clay stands was designed by architect Alois Dryák and built in the year 1926 for the previous 8th Všesokolský slet. In addition to footage of the spectator stands being constructed, the film also includes wider shots of the stadium and its surroundings taken from the Petřín lookout tower.
