Description
The segment from the 1940 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) Issue No. 18B promotes waste collecting and sorting, mainly paper, rags and bones. The footage shows the exterior and the interior of the Prague incinerator in Vysočany. A close-up of a decree on compulsory recycling of personal waste issued by the Prague City Hall. Garbage trucks "Praga-Kuka", equipped with special collection compartments, collect waste, which the incinerator employees subsequently sort and recycle. The voiceover quotes the Prague incinerator's motto: "Save all that is old so that something new can be created."
