A New Production of 'The Bartered Bride' at the ND

The segment from the 1943 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) No. 40A was shot with the intent of introducing a new production of Bedřich Smetana's opera Prodaná nevěsta (The Bartered Bride) at the National Theatre. Painter Karel Svolinských is inspecting his costume and set designs. In the National Theatre's set painting studio, the production of the set pieces is underway.
