Description
The segment from the 1943 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) Issue No. 50A features footage from a St. Nicholas Day event organised for children in one of Prague's hospitals by female students of the Městská odborná škola pro ženská povolání (Municipal Vocational School of Women's Professions). Images of sick children in beds. Nurses are helping the children prepare for the event. Close-ups of nurses brushing their hair. The students arrive in costumes of St. Nicholas, an angel and a devil, and give away gifts and sweets to the children. A close-up of a toddler enjoying a biscuit.
