Description
The segment features the opening of the ten-story Baťa department store on Prague's Wenceslas Square. The functionalist building was designed by the technical department of the Baťa factory with the participation of architects Ludvík Kysela, František Lýdie Gahura, and Josef Gočár. Preparations began in July 1928, and the actual construction started in September of the same year. The department store was opened on 4 December 1929. Shots of the department store's entrance and the building's ground floor. Footage of customers exiting the building is then played in reverse, making them "return".
