Description
The segment from the 1940 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) Issue No. 25A addresses the fight against cutaneous tuberculosis. Footage from the interior of the Institute for Lupus Treatment, a part of the hospital complex in Prague Motol. After an image of a poster that reads "Lupus is curable", we see examples of cutaneous tuberculosis symptoms. The treatment is carried out with the help of concentrated light, a so-called UV radiation Finsen lamp. Patients are sunbathing on loungers.
