Charles Square Redevelopment

The segment from the 1938 UFA žurnál (UFA Newsreel) Issue No. 158 informs about the historically valuable U Šálků house on the corner of Charles Square (Karlovo náměstí) and Resslova Street, rebuilt in the Baroque style. The house was, despite public protests, slated for demolition and later demolished in the fall of 1938. The empty plot remained undeveloped for more than sixty years.
