Description
The segment from the 1932 Československý filmový týdeník (Czechoslovak Newsreel) No. 16 presents the viewers with the innovative spatial redesign of Sophocles' tragedy Oedipus Rex at the National Theatre in Prague. The play was staged and directed by the theatre´s director of drama Karel Hugo Hilar in collaboration with the architect Vlastislav Hofman. A shot of a set piece by Vlastislav Hofman placed on a turntable. The segment is concluded with excerpts from the performance.
