The segment from the 1942 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) Issue No. 33 informs about the need for cost-saving measures in factory canteens. Footage from a factory kitchen where cooks prepare new, cheaper variations of meals for employees. The primary ingredients used are groats, millet grain, and oatmeal. The cooks fry oatmeal patties and prepare millet with meat, vegetables, and mushrooms. A closeup of a dessert - an oven-baked batter bun. Shots of employees having lunch together in the factory canteen.
