Description
The segment from the 1942 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) Issue No. 51AB features pinecone collecting in Czech forests. Forest workers are collecting pinecones, which serve as a reserve during poor harvest seasons. Shot of a man equipped with special tree-climbing shoes. Footage of men in treetops, some are jumping to adjacent trees. The voiceover states that spruce cones are collected every three years, and larch cones every five years.
