Description
The segment from the 1944 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) Issue No. 45 shows the production of suitcases made from veneer scraps, which are, according to the segment, particularly convenient when staying in a bomb shelter. The women knit the suitcases at home and then take them to factories, where they add finishing touches, like varnishing the wood, attaching handles, and reinforcing straps.
