Description
The segment from the 1940 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) No. 48A shows the National Theatre's set painting studio, built in 1889-1900 as designed by architect Karel Skopec, and located at the Apolinář hospital complex in Prague. Set designer Josef Matěj Gottlieb supervises the creation of the set pieces for the production of František Zavřel's play Valdštýn. Director Aleš Podhorský and set designer Gottlieb inspect the completed set pieces.
