Description
The segment from the 1939 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) Issue No. 46A informs about the renewed charcoal pile usage throughout the entirety of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The Economic Aid in Bohemia and Moravia organisation aimed to increase the employment rate, facilitate work in mines, and, last but not least, save petrol that was needed on the war front. Captured on film is a pile being constructed and then ignited, and charcoal burners at work.
