French Comic Opera at the ND

A segment from the 1929 weekly Deglův žurnál (Degl´s Newsreel) no. 24 captures a guest appearance of the French theatre company Théâtre national de LûOpér - Comique at the National Theatre in Prague. After a performance of Prodaná nevěsta (The Bartered Bride), the members of the French ensemble meet with National Theatre Opera soloists in Kejřův mlýn (Kejř´s Mill) in Hloubětín. A meeting between the two performers of Mařenka in the opera, Nada Kejřová and Germaine Féraldy, and between both performers of Kecal, Emil Pollert and Andre Allard. A shot of the meeting´s initiator, the wife of the French ambassador Štefan Osuský, Mrs Osuská, and Louis Masson, head of the French Comic Opera.
