Description
The segment from the 1942 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) No. 12 captures the grand celebratory performance of Bedřich Smetana's opera Prodaná nevěsta (The Bartered Bride) on the 3rd anniversary of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia at the National Theatre in Prague on 15 March 1942. The performance is attended by the State President of the Protectorate Emil Hácha and the Prime Minister of the Protectorate Jaroslav Krejčí. The orchestra is conducted by Karel Nedbal.
