Description
The segment from the 1936 Československý filmový týdeník (Czechoslovak Newsreel) Issue No. 23 shows the Jubilee of the Czechoslovak Red Cross Voluntary Nurses of Slovakia in May 1936 in Piešt'any. The nurses are preparing for a parade through the town. The parade is watched by the founder and chairwoman of the Czechoslovak Red Cross, Alice Masaryková. Following the parade is a gathering in the town park, where Alice Masaryková gives a speech and the nurses take an oath. A delegation of Czechoslovak Red Cross nurses visits the birthplace of Milan Rastislav Štefánik in the village Košariská and the terraced monument to Štefánik on the Bradlo hill.
