Description
The segment from the 1944 Český zvukový týdeník Aktualita (Czech Aktualita Sound Newsreel) Issue No. 51B features the Prague Catgut Institute, where sheep intestines are used to make what is called catgut, a surgical thread for suturing wounds. Sheep guts are treated in a chemical bath in the laboratory. After that, the finished fibre is wound onto spools. The commentary informs about the advantages of this fibre in surgical operations.
